I see the codes in that thread but you are saying it's
a non-discrete power on so does that mean it's a power
toggle?

Yes, the power-on I use is not discrete, but it works fine for me since the projector is always be OFF when I issue the power toggle.

Also, what does changing the standby mode actually do?

Not sure. I only know that when the projector is in the super-standby mode it does not respond well to IR commands from my Pronto. Apparently the super-standby mode is a power savings mode that puts the projector in a "deep sleep".

Unless I'm mistaken it seems like you are just learning
the power toggle command from the original remote (which
is not really the same as a discrete on...)

yes, you are right. But, this is working great for me. I have one "Master On" button on my Pronto that powers on all my equipment (Z5, DVD player, A/V receiver, etc) when I first sit down. So, the Z5 is always off when I press the Master On button.

If I decide to power off the Z5 and start watching my old TV instead, then I use the Z5 discrete power off command. And later, when I wish to power off all the equipment, I have a "Master Off" button on my Pronto that powers off all the equipment, including the Z5. This is when the Z5 discrete Off is important, since my Z5 may already be turned off.

So, having the discrete On is not a necessity for me, I only need the discrete Off.

Steve
