Finally found a solution to the "Philips" discrete input that might work for others.
These are the only 2 HEX codes for discrete input that I've found on this forum that work for our older Philips HDTV rear projection set: AV3 0000 0073 0000 000C 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0020 0040 0020 0020 0040 0020 0CA4
But I read one post where a certain One-for-All remote had higher capabilities for controlling discrete input. Went to WalMart, Radio Shack, etc. and couldn't find such a remote, but I did discover a 7-component Universal HDTV Remote at Radio Shack ($23) that actually had discrete INPUT selection buttons on it (TV, RV, Comp, HDMI). Bought it with hope and a prayer. Then, after getting it home and programming the TV to default to Philips, I found two of these input select buttons correctly sent IR codes for AV1 and AV4. Hooray!!
Even if this forum cannot always supply the answer, sometimes it steers you to a solution you didn't think about.
