John is 100% correct. If you prefer the look of the Audioplex Stealth IR receiver, you can add a second stealth (this one tuned to 56kHz for the RCA). Call smarthome and see if they stock it or as John says, purchase a standard wide band IR sensor from Niles or Xantech. That will give you less range and more interference than the Xantech CFL or the Audioplex Stealth, but will work both conventional (40kHz) and RCA (56kHz) remote controls with one sensor.

I use two Stealth sensors in systems that require a lot of range and sensitivity (large rooms or clients that don't remember to point). The increase in range is dramatic! It is just pricey.
