Just did my third 700 over the last couple of days...

One thing I found is that the macros look for spots on the remote, not devices. If you don't set them all up the same, for example, with the cable box in the lower right hand corner of page 1, then really quick programming isn't gonna happen...

Echostar Dish Network box codes can confuse the 700, especially if the buttons had to be taught (it's not my teaching, since the remote actually sends out the right signals 75% of the time), but Direct TV on an RCA Tivo works flawlessly.

I had to trick two of the 700's into learning Sony CD codes... that comes with the territory, though.

Another thing I found is that while the 500 uses some BS code list that HTM came up with, the 700 uses the same code list that UEI uses on the 9400 and Cinema 7. This totally rocks for cheater programming, since the 700 and C7 share code bases. If only the 700 had discrete capabilities like the C7, but hey... my C7 lives in my laptop case now... heh

More things I'd like to see in the editor software... (carried over from a thread elsewhere)
'tab' key switching between fields in the button editor menu
macros that find devices on the remote, not spots on the remote (that might be asking too much)

We can do it my way, or we can do it my way while I yell. The choice is yours.
