I can understand what Brent is saying. I have had a few where the customer has had problems recording or they want extra functions. As long as the remote works (without any glitches), I tell the customer to bring the remote to me, and I can add the changes. With recording, I usually have a page that walks them through it..."When do you want to record (NOW) or (LATER)...Now sends the record function, later goes to a page that walks them though the VCR menu and a frame at the bottom of the page gives them directions....
All in all, the remote is as dumb as the programmer makes it...heh, I have a customer with a pronto for his TV, vcr, and dvd. THAT's IT!!! No receiver, no surround...He can't live without it.
