Just as you described. You plug in a double male one end to the controller and one end into the Denon. I am using a Pronto Pro with the RF receiver and one of the outputs is inserted into my 5803. I personally take the covers off and mount the emitters internal when you have to use them. I actually did this to the 5803 before I realized what that input was for. Either way works great. :)
