I say buy it then return it. Sounds like Xantech just wants to make more money by making you buy something you'll only need once. Too bad for them, they charge too much for their stuff anyway. On the other hand, what happens if the codes get lost or don't get learned correctly or reliably? Then I say keep it... unless it's really outrageously priced. I don't think one returned remote is gonna put 'em under.
