You only need the connecting block to allow more than one emitter to operate at the same time from the wireless base. The IR RCVR jack on the connecting block is a 3-conductor jack, and the emitter out jack on the base unit is most likely a 2-conductor jack. Don't connect these two jacks together, I don't think it would work.
Your best bet is to wire the tip of a 2-conductor plug to the signal terminal of the connecting block, and the shield to the ground.
Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
