An aquaintance of mine is looking for a (their words) a "simple IR repeater they can stick on the end of their remote control".

Seems they have changed out their home lighting to compact flourescent and that's zapping the IR receivers on the HT gear.

They claim to have verified this by testing their remotes with the lights on and then off. On they have the problem (which is vastly reduced range and angle), off the remotes and HT gear behave as expected.

Rather then spend $$$ on a higher-powered programmable remote they are looking to try the cheap route first and get something simple.
