"I use a splitter from an RCA Monitor out, one to the tv and the other to the projector." Do you mean a Y adapter?? Using a Y adapter can cause the video level to be dark and can cause macrovision problems to be worse. Try running the DVD's video out directly to your projector, if that works its not the proj or dvd. I haven't seen any tv's bothered by macrovision, it seems to bother only most VHS vcrs.
