I am thinking of creating a ccf for each piece of equipment we carry both in b&w and color and in for different styles
if you had one style and one model, I would recommend what you are saying. But if you have different styles and models of Prontos, I think the easiest thing is to create CCFs consisting of an IR panel for the device. Then you can merge a UI CCF with each IR CCF and make all the links (aliases). You could also do cut/copy IR codes, might be a bit faster then recreating the aliases for some devices.
