Don't know about the "forced cool-down" mentioned above...of the many projectors I have installed, the only lamp failures have been for one of two reasons...the lamp was 3 years old and just worn out, or the power to the projector was removed during the cool down cycle. The latter has happened at least 4 times, on different projectors. You can kind of use a mock-discrete power off with most projectors from in-focus; press power twice to turn off the unit (press once "Turn off projector? Press power again"). This will also turn the projector on if it was off, so only press power once in your macro for system on.
