The sony RM-AV3000 operates with an RF base station
frequency of 10-500 KHZ, works with 4 AA batteries.
You will see a long list of choices of RF operating
remotes if you go this site home page and click
on "Clicker Picker" Choose RF remotes.

10-500 KHZ is IR not RF. Yes, the RM-AV3000 comes up on the clicker picker when you check RF, but if you look at the detailed specs - it says NO under controls RF devices. I don't see any mention or pictures in Daniel's review of a base station. But since I don't own one, I could be missing something.

As far as controling the set top box with an RF capable Pronto/Marantz, these remotes use 418MHZ for RF, so the answer is probably not. European spec RF capable Prontos use 433.92MHZ - so maybe with one of these. Course that's not legal to do in North America.
