Open up the back cover of your TV, so you have access to the deflection yoke in the back of the picture tube. Loosen up the screw of the ring that tightens the yoke on the neck of the picture tube, without turning the yoke from it's original position. Once you have done that, face the front of the picture tube to a"NORTH"direction, kill the green and blue color outputs, to obtain a red screen. Degauss the picture tube as you normally do with a degausser coil. Get yourself situated in the back of your TV with a large size mirror in front of you, so you could see the front of the TV and see what you doing. With the set still on, grab the insulated part of the yoke and push it slowly toward the front of the TV, untill the screen has a pure even red. Make sure when pushing the yoke you don't tilt it. Reset the 3 color outputs to obtain a grey picture with the color control set to zero (no chroma). Hook up a crossbar generator to the tuner and touch up the convergence if necessary. And if you dealing with a digital TV you have to know how to get into the service mode with service codes.
