I think my Sony DVD is old enough that the only discrete "OFF" it understands is the "System Off" command. But, if I understand it correctly, it looks like Sony TVs have their own discrete on/off codes (at least, that's what it looks like in the Pronto File area).

Too bad the Sony also happens to be the most expensive out of all of them :). Guess I'll have to track down my cousin (electronic store employee, wink wink).
