Yep, you can select the "TV" command for power on, and the "power" command to be used as power off in the setup menu.
Full discrete inputs AND aspect ratios via IR and serial.
Are they reliable units?
Knock on wood, we haven't had an issue yet.
Last week I installed the Marantz 12S2 projector
the picture was awesome. How would you compare
the dwin to the Marantz.

I haven't seen the 2 side-by-side, but both have amazing pictures. The Marantz probably wins overall picture quality, but not by much. But then again, you're also talking a diference in price.
The Dwin gets my vote for performance to cost ratio, and I like the fact that you don't have to run multiple cables to the projector. One cable does video AND control. All inputs and connection to external control system are on the scaler, and you can use short cables within the rack to make all your connections.
