I have not had any experience with the DSS/Tivo systems for direct tv. I am starting a CCF for a TSU6000 Pronto and dont have a master remote for the DSS/Tivo yet. The client is deciding if he should throw out the VCR, he wants to record and I told him this was the simple way to do it and still be simple to use.

Same ole story here, Client had a big box store do the theater/music install in a new home, they screwed it up and then closed that division. Now he needs a control system but will not shellout for the Crestron. I have him nodding yes to the 6000 Pronto, I want to build a basic CCF that will give guests and gradma full use of the media center (TV = monitor,5.1 Receiver, DSS/tivo). Can I basicly just use a DSS CCF and add a "record and play" page? I really want to keep it very simple as he is a techniphobe.

But I have no remote to study or a demo piece to play with.
