1. Loading a bitmap into a Panel:

You have two choices when loading in a bitmap. You can load it into a Button or a Frame. You would load it into a Button if you wanted that bitmap to have a command (Can be anything like a Device Code or a Jump to another Page) in it. However if you just want bitmap as a background or a non-functioning button then load it into a Frame. To add a Button, right click (with the mouse) on the panel and select “Add Button” -or- hit Alt + K on your Keyboard. To add a Frame, right click (with the mouse) on the panel and select “Add Frame” -or- hit Alt + A on your Keyboard.

Now that you have the button or frame added to the panel, you will need to load the bitmap. The directions below will be for ProntoEdit 2.0. The only difference in ProntoEdit 1.5 is you will have to select each tab (“Inactive Icons” and “Active Icons”) independently.

For a Button:

- Double click on the button (the one you want the bitmap loaded into). This should bring you into the “Button Properties” Menu. You could also right click on the Button and click “Properties...” -or- Ins on your Keyboard (make sure the button is selected [will have a red outline around it] when doing this).

  • Now that you are in the Menu, click on the “Icons” tab.

  • Right click (with the mouse) in each section (Unselected Inactive Icon, Selected Inactive Icon, Unselected Active Icon and Selected Active Icon) and click Load .

  • Find the Bitmap that you want loaded and click Open .

  • Click “Apply” and then “OK” to exit the Menu.

For a Frame:

- Double click on the frame (the one you want the bitmap loaded into). This should bring you into the “Frame Properties” Menu. You could also right click on the Frame and click “Properties...” -or- Ins on your Keyboard (make sure the frame is selected [will have a red outline around it] when doing this).

  • In the Menu, click on the “Icons” tab.

  • Right click (with the mouse) in the section and click Load.

  • Find the Bitmap that you want loaded and click Open.

  • Click “Apply” and then “OK” to exit the Menu.

2. Making a Gallery:

You can make a gallery in two places. You can have the gallery in the Default location, so when you click on Tools —> Gallery it will be loaded in there. The other place would be to just make a few panels in your CCF with your Custom Bitmaps.

Making the Gallery in the Default location:

  • The first thing you need to do is open the Default Gallery File. To do this; Click File —> Open Configuration . It should open the ProntoEdit folder which should have four CCFs ( device, gallery, home and macro) in it.

  • Click on the file called Gallery and click “Open”.

  • Now just replace those buttons with your Custom buttons

  • When you finished adding your buttons, save the file as “gallery” in that Pronto Folder. This will replace the old file.

Making the Gallery in the CCF:

  • Create a couple of blank panels within the CCF. To make a blank panel, hold the Shift button while clicking on “Add Panel”.

  • Add all of your Custom Bitmaps using the Directions above.

To move the whole button from one panel to another, click on the button you want moved and then hold down Ctrl button on your Keyboard.

To move just the icon to another button, click on the Icon you want moved to another another and hold down the Alt button on your Keyboard.
