FWIW, I use the Xantech IR repeater with a plasma and have no problems. I have the Xantech reveiver mounted inside a cabinet such that it is about 6 inches below and 12 inches forward of the bottom of the plasma. When a bright scene flashes on the plasma, I can see the IR receiver flash slightly. However, I have not noticed any adverse effect on the operation of the IR system itself.
