That said, a friend of mine, who is also a competitor, made a service call on a clunky old intercom system I installed a few years back. Won't go into the gory details, just leave it at the fact that the homeowner wouldn't dare call me.

Anyway, he makes the trip, does the repair, and the wife offers him a nice clean $10.00 bill.

Sad situation. He had to sue them to get paid his normal service call rate.
