Damn,

you MUST be busy... recent attempts to contact you have failed.

Brijaws... you of all people should understand the cyclical nature of this business... especially with small companies where the principle is getting dirty. Usually while your kicking ass to finish up projects its hard to set up the next ones.

During the downtime, you relax (for about 7 hours) then you put marketing into overdrive... call all the old clients for referrals and all of the sudden... you need a couple high end techs.

I've been here a few times too... even posted the same kind of message here on RC. AV Dude... try what I have. I realize you are really hands on and what you want is someone who can hit the ground running with little oversight on your part. My experience is that these guys aren't as good for me because they have their own ideas that differ from mine and without input from me its hard to steer them my way (not that their input isn't valuable because it almost always is). I've had a lot of success by looking at car stereo guys... especially late 20's early 30's guys who are sick and f-----g tired of the gangsta rap music, 150 db pounding bass and the whole bloody macho my cars bettrn yours scene. These guys have experience that easily transfers to what we do... they are extremely detail oriented... used to fishing wires through and working in tight spaces... clean and best of all, thankful for the new direction you provide. It may be tough to provide the necessary management at first but you'll be surprised at how quick they're up to speed (quicker than a greenhorn) and they will be moldable to the methods you've established.

I plan on adding a van... splitting up my team and getting each of my now very experienced and CEDIA certified techs a new guy to bring along. This will leave me in project management mode (that and the other 12 or so administrative hats). At least the 40-50 hours a week in the field will be minimized and I may learn what my children's names are.
