I'm laying out a Middle Atlantic rack that will
include a client's CT-610. Can't tell from B&K's
website if I can have the client order this with
a standard 19" faceplate or if I need a custom
rackshelf... notice there isn't one in MA's B&K
listing.

Last I checked you could order this with a 19" rack faceplate.

Also, how many rack spaces? Looks like the dimensions
listed are not 1.75" multiples?

Four, I would guess, if you get the 19" faceplate. Five or six if you get the 17" and put it on a shelf.

As a side note, does this thing normally run:
A. Just above room temp.
B. Toasty, yet comfortable.
C. Very warm - but convection cooling is OK if
the rack in general is vented OK.
D. One hot sumbitch - plan on fans & plenty of
vented panels above & below this beast.

Runs pretty nicely, call it a B. Does your client plan to have all channels driven pretty hard at the same time? Then a C.

BTW, this a client who just can't justify extending
the theater's Crestron system to remote rooms.
Any feedback for the B&K as the "next best" option?

Pity, the CT-610 supports some pretty nice two way RS-232 with volume indication, etc. Next best would be the B&K CK 1.2 keypads.
Carpe diem!
