This is easy to implement in Outlook, although to really get it to work for what I think you want, you'll need to set up an Exchange Server.
What other abilities other than sharing contacts and implementing shared calendars are you looking for?
If you are looking for something that will assign resources to tasks, and allow you to track progress on the tasks, take a look at Microsoft Project.
