Try it. If it works, it doesn't much matter what we or theory says.

I get the impression that you cannot change this wiring in any way. If you could, I would recommend twisting the 16-2 or just using the CAT5.

A short length of the wrong wire might just work perfectly. Then again, there might be hum, which in video is one or two horizontal darkish areas slowly scrolling up the screen.

I have used CAT5 to send a 318 mHz antenna signal from one floor to another, and it worked well. In fact, it did not work at all with the antenna disconnected, but did work with it connected, so it was not just the CAT5 itself picking up the signal, but rather it was transferring it. So try it!
