Intuit has a POS module that allows you to use barcoding to track inventory. I set this up w/ my previous employer. We had a problem w/ "shrinkage". Now all inventory, even small parts packaging was barcoded. The install mgr would scan out all needed inventory billed to the customer as it was staged and scan it out as it left . this cut down on the problem and proved very cost effective.
