Here is the workaround for discrete Power On and Power Off:
On - Menu, Power, Power
Off - Menu, Power
These macros are totally reliable.
Here is the exact procedure to program a swap, mute, or 30 second skip to the original Motorola remote. After programming this on the Motorola, teach your learning remote tor automation system the new command.
1) Press the "Cable" button at the top of the remote to put it into Cable Box control mode. 2) Press and hold the "Setup" button until the "Cable" button blinks twice. 3) Type in the code 994. The "Cable" button will blink twice 4) Press (do not hold) the "Setup" button 5) Type in the code 00173 (for 30 second Skip), 00141 (for Mute) or 00236 (for Swap). 6) Press whatever button you want to map the skip or swap function to.
This next tip is a little less exciting since it requires that you go to the Main Menu only to access your Favorites Guide. First manually go to the favorites via the Main Menu. Then, you can create a Favorites macro that will go directly to the FAVORITES GUIDE:
Macro Step 1: EXIT (Does no harm and may speed execution)
Macro Step 2: MENU
Macro Step 3: MENU
Macro Step 4: ENTER
Actually this macro will execute whatever item you last selected from the Main Menu, but if your client never uses them (I don't), it's reliable.
