Hide the 'door station' in a cupboard or just out of view location.
Put a cheap door phone system in each kitchen or somewhere common. (maybe even a private closet type area.
Now you can answer a 'page' (distinctive double ring) from either location from any phone... cordless / poolside / whirlpool / crapper / barbeque / whatever.
It WILL fit anybody's budget and feature requirements.
If it doesn't, then roll up the proposal into a couple of megaphone shapes and hold one end up to your lips and wish them luck. let them keep the freshly minted megaphones free of charge.
