Use the freebie patterns at Milori to double check your display is not stretching the image too much with the alignment settings on the set.

Another thing I do is to make a bunch of perfectly round circles in Illustrator (double click and enter the size parameters manually) and place rows of them all over a file that takes up the whole screen. If they become ellipses your stretch is too great and youneed to select a more appropriate screen resolution, or if they are different in the sides than in the center, the plasma is auto-selecting some 4x3 stretch that you will not want to leave on that input.

On an intial setup, browsing the 'web, or even viewing slides, the settings may look great, but it should absolutely have the ability to be dialed in perfectly with specific resolutions if the application is to view CAD files or something where scale and proportion must be accurate.

Since you are going to the trouble, you might as well try dialing yours in to that degree of accuracy.

If it's not too much trouble, call the number and throw some of this out to them.

Specifically mention that a consultant spec is involved and that CAD files were mentioned so resolutios need to be specified by the display manufacturer to ensure that scale and proportion will be accurate.
If they ask for the spec to be faxed or e-mailed for them to view, say that it is in the project manager's project binder at another location and that you just jotted down these specific questions.

See what they say and reply to this...
