For CD's here is what I use....

Has a batch scanning mode, all you do is put your cd in your drive, it reads the disk ID, and opens the cd drawer, allowing you to place in the next cd. Just switch cd's and push the drawer closed. The whole process then starts over again. When finished with the cd's, just have the program download all the information from CDDB. Has a ton of features, and really good support from the author.
