I have a military bolt action rifle from Finland...
Sako TRG-22... very fine piece of equipment.

I know Genelec for their near field duties, but
not sure of their perfomance, or more to the point,
value of the product versus other vendors at the
same price point. A very small mini monitor mated
with a sub requires some careful placment to allow
proper integration with the low end... actually,
my favorite setup, but doesn't seem like most
custon installations allow this.

Their larger products were designed for control
room use, not sure how they perform, but know
that they are expensive.

Good, no doubt, but are they versatile?

You have to remember that at the same price point, you need to include amps with other speaker (most anyways). So by adding your speakers plus amps, and if you want to be fair make sure you have an amp channel for each driver, the Genelecs usually are a bargain at the price.

Genelecs can pound you with a very small enclosure, yet are some of the most musical speakers I've heard. When you take one of the small speakers, then compare it to the next step up they sound very similar. Genelec designs speakers for room size, then gives you adjustments (treble, mid, and bass roll-off slopes) to make the speaker sound the best it can in that room. As stated before, about the only other speaker that will do that is Meridian, and Meridian is a lot more expensive.
