We are doing a basement media center installation using a 71" rear projection TV. The TV will be recess mounted in one of the walls-the cavity that it will sit in will allow walk through access to the back of the TV. The builder I'm working with is asking for suggestions on how to rough this in. What is the best way to trim out just the dimensions of the TV screen so the TV is as far forward as possible?? The builder plans on using a real simple 3" moulding with a low profile around the bezel-this will work great around the 2" bezel to the top, left and right of the screen...but the bottom of the TV with the speaker presents the challenge. Last time we did this the carpenter trimmed it out so the drywall covered the speaker on the bottom of the TV...but of course this created a problem for mounting the moulding as it had nothing to really bit into (the finish carpenter eventually came back and glued it in place which worked out fairly well).
