I'm *not* in favor of raping the planet & nuking the whales, but there is such a thing as the law of unintended consequences & there is no free lunch. Somebody will pay, in this case millions of malaria deaths.
The tree-hugging fringe takes some of this to extremes where it becomes their religion & will cry heresy if you question any of the standard boiler-plate talking points. If you don't like this article/author/source, just google DDT ban. Not exactly a black & white issue.
