Would I get the new audio formats (Dolby True HD, and
DTS HD) If I connected a Blue-Ray player HDMI to a processor
that does not have these logo's on the front of the unit?

I spent a few minutes following the links you provided to look at the specs of your equipment. Here's a quote from the Sony BDP-S550 manual

"Dolby® TrueHD internal decoding
Dolby® TrueHD internal decoding and bitstream output via HDMI™ for the Dolby TrueHD and dts®-HD (Master Audio and High Resolution Audio)"

This is typical of the way Sony writes their manuals, we have to look closely at what they're saying! It seems the player has an internal decoder for Dolby TrueHD, but can only bitsteam the raw codec for the dts-HD Master Audio.

You will therefore need a processor for the dts-HD, but not for the TrueHD. That's what I think, anyway. I can't be certain.

On the other hand, this source

indicates that the player will decode the dts-HD Master Audio!
