Xantech says that I have 2 faulty receivers. I bet when
I get the receivers back they will say it's the HD44CC5.
Then I will have to RMA that too. I am using the Russound
VBHD kit temporarily, but the video quality sucks just
through a 3 foot CAT5 cable that I was testing with.
Has any one used the HD44CC5 and HDRXSG01 with good results?
Xantech has been sending people to us in the last two days to buy DC blockers because of video problems over Cat 5 with this unit. Sounds like it's only DC coupled, which is nice for specs, but makes the unit susceptible to DC offset leakage from the source. It also sounds like, from a call I got, that it's losing termination. Two very serious issues.
This is ironic because Xantech is sending people to us to buy these DC blockers (1182 and 1183), even though we make a 6x6 Cat-5 matrix that does a few things theirs doesn't. Ours also doesn't have the aforementioned problems. I guess that's the advantage of us having 25 years of video distribution experience...
