yeah, its not just motorola (scientific atlanta / CISCO),
but also the cable provider who writes the software /
operating environment. i have seen implementations by
Time Warner Cable that are great, while the Cablevision
implementation of the same exact box is horrible. i've
gotten a few of the Tivo Series 3 boxes under my belt
and not to say that they haven't had their problems...
the first thing, that it is not a box provided by the
cable company, is a huge + for Tivo, and they didn't even
have to do anything to gain that point from me.
Tivo Series 3 is awesome!!! i jus tdid one, never seen it. expensive though, $800 just for the media box. and then service costs. i think the best thing is cable cards, even though u dont get guide, ITS ON TIVO!! And it is unbelievably fast, and networkable..
