Why would you by a HD TV without getting HD service. You
can rent a digital cable box or a HD cable box for $10
a month. Without digial cable all tv's look bad on straight
cable.

I love my VIZIO 42" LCD 1080p I got from Costco last week
for $1000 after I degaussed the screen by pulling the
plug from the wall and letting it set for 15 minutes.
I get crystal clear reception on all HD channels with
great color. All the SD channels are better than with
the old JVC 32" TV with digital cable that I paid $650
5 years ago.
VIZIO VU42L FHDTV10A 1080p Review

First impression was Great design of TV and Input Labeling
on the back for the connectors.

Second impression was Lousy for initial set-up as it didn’t
find any channels as it scanned for available channels
on my HD Cox Cable Box. The TV didn’t ask me to select
an input first. Men aren’t supposed to read the quick
instruction guide first. Then after I selected the right
input (HDMI1) I started to look at the stations. They
all looked worse than my old analog TV. After I fiddled
with some settings I couldn’t get it to look any better.
I ended up selecting the factory setting and looking again
and it was still bad. I was about ready to box this up
and give it back to Costco. I remembered reading somewhere
on the web that someone had pulled the power plug to let
the TV degauss itself. I let the TV rest for about 10
minutes and then plugged in the power cord and WOW!!!,
what a difference.

This TV puts out a great picture with a good sound system.

I'm still trying to get my RCA RCR412S programable remote
to get some Vizio code to work. Anyone have a Vizio working
on an RCA remote.

This is a joke right?
At least you found a way to make the Vizio look good..Pull the plug...but you forgot the final step, leave it unplugged....forever!
