Why would you by a HD TV without getting HD service. You can rent a digital cable box or a HD cable box for $10 a month. Without digial cable all tv's look bad on straight cable.

I love my VIZIO 42" LCD 1080p I got from Costco last week for $1000 after I degaussed the screen by pulling the plug from the wall and letting it set for 15 minutes. I get crystal clear reception on all HD channels with great color. All the SD channels are better than with the old JVC 32" TV with digital cable that I paid $650 5 years ago.
