People see us as these hardened construction people who
are used to getting banged in the head crawling through
someone house, but there is no pain that hurts us dads
more than when our kids are sick. You are standing there
feeling helpless & this little person is looking at you
like you are going to fix the problem, Just like you fix
everything else, but you cant, and you cant tell them
that, you have to sit there and smile and tell them it
is going to be OK. I have 6-year-old boy and girl twins,
who were born very premature, I slept in a hospital for
over a month next to an incubator, I prayed a lot, the
doctors filled me with fear, listing in detail all the
things they said will probably go wrong with my children,
but I pushed them out of my mind, and prayed harder.

But my kids are 6 now, and they are some of the healthiest
children the doctors have ever seen. They get their occasional
flu & high fever like other kids, but nothing the doctors
said would happen, even remotely happened.

A lot of us are used to their wives praying, but to be
perfectly honest, I have learned from my ordeal that it
is really dads job to protect his family, it is dads faith
that holds the family together, it is dads preyers that
should be there first when something comes to try and
take you children.

I am very moved by the number of people of faith on this
site, & I am very proud of all of you for coming to the
aid of your brother in his time of need, for he is a good
man who is standing over his family as he should and I
pray that God shall bless & stand beside him & that no
foul thing shall harm the almightily’s servant nor his
family.

VERY WELL said RTI Installer! I couldn't have said it better myself. The first paragraph really tugged on my heart strings.

I really hope that your son is OK. My thoughts and prayers are with you both.
