Went to IC2 training last week with a view to becoming a Niles dealer, we currently are not. I went hoping that this would be a great addition to our product line but I have to say I was a little disappointed in the remote. (The HT-MSU was cool though.)
The problem copying LIN files was discussed. Trainer mentioned that some older codes will not transfer correctly as they may have been "learnt differently". I didn't ask further as I didn't think it important to me.
I did ask about having multiple surround modes and the suggested solution was to program a master key then hit a pre-programmed number, i.e. 1 for dolby, 2 for THX etc. It seems to me that by the time your done with surround modes, favorite channels etc. you'd need an entire reference book for the remote. I don't get how that is more user friendly but push and hold isn't?
And this was suposed to be a remote for the baby-boomer generation.....?
