my data sheet says it should be a straight thru cable....and the error response will be "81h" in almost every circumstance
you could try turning off the TV...waiting for it to power off...then unplug...and re-plug it in...with your PC hooked up...
somethings have to be connected at startup...don't know if the Mits is one of them
