All I have right now is the T2 Am/FM Tuner to go with
the Nuvo.

OK, there are several different versions of this piece, If memory serves, one is compatible only with the classic concerto, the second is compatible with only the Grand concerto or e6g. The third can go either way. If I were you, I would call NUVO again and clarify what T2 you have. That would dictate which way you go with the concerto. I have a bunch of these on the shelf that I can trade if you need to. Again the shipping thing might be the issue.

I downloaded the latest software from Nuvo
and hooked up to the Concerto. I clicked on retrieve
info from Concerto and it came back with Grand Concerto
V 2.10.

that's good, you know you have a good and functioning MCU for a Grand Concerto
I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada. The shop that quoted
me $2700 is an authorized dealer, but I bet the exchange
rate is the kicker. Do the dealers have this MCU card
for classic or do I have to talk to Nuvo to send me one.

You have to go to NUVO for the MCU. The're in very short supply and I think they might be hoarding them for warranty purposes.

I wouldn't mind downgrading to classic concerto, but
I know my luck that I would encounter many problems programming
the Concerto, as my purchase shows.

The Grand concerto and the classic concerto program the same way, it's very easy to do. The only problem is if you need IR codes for a component, your need the NUVO learning station to get the codes into the software. Or you can try to find a merciful soul out in cyber space that has the codes or is willing to code them for you. Oh yah, If you have the pronto hex codes, you can import them without the learning station.

Good to know about the EZ port, I only have 5 zones now
and will only add 5 more in the future. So then, for

It's not the number of zones that is different, its the number of NUVOnet ports that is different..... The Nuvo components like the i pod docks and the T@ tuner.

6 keypads it would be $2400.00 CAN.

remember that you can use the new Essentia Keypads on a Grand Concerto as well, they're smaller and about $100 us less at retail.

I would rather not put more money into it, but I'm worried
that if I downgrade, I'll open up a whole new can of worms
and it won't work. Obviously I'm a DIYer and I know there
is a reason Nuvo wants it professionally installed, but
I thought it wasn't that bad. It doens't help when I
get the wrong pads. Oh well, live and learn.

I can quote you a US price for the KP's, send me an e-mail and I can get you details.
I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV.
My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird.
