I have both the RM-VL700S and the RM-VL900 and both of them won't learn the code for my Charter Cable STB-Motorola DCT 2000, a very common piece of equipment. I was able to change the VCR component select button to a CBL component and it accepted 017. I then transferred the settings to the CBL button. But this only worked on the 700S, and there were times when even that failed to work. The 900 never took a working code. And neither would take 017 directly. Have you answered this before?
