I've seen it mentioned here but not found a link on the site. (Please correct me if it is linked.)

I finally got round to replacing the forward and reverse keys on my DVD setup with the shuttle commands... Pressing the buttons again and again gives you progressively faster search speeds.... I no longer need my DVD remote... Horay.
