I have a Sony ES333 receiver that mostly works under table 0158, but not all features are there. I have manually tried adv codes 000 to 255 and still have not found everything.

Question:

Do manufacturers use predefined code tables or do they just make up a new one and the remote guys add it into their next model?

Put another way, does my receiver's full feature set reside in another code table that has not been discovered yet or does OFA have to create one for this device and put it in firmware?

Or - does every IR code have a code table/ADV equivalent?
