No. The Cinema has the major keys in a glow-in-the- dark plastic that will retain a glow for a few minutes after lights go out, but no internal powered illumination.

In actually use, I've never missed the backlight. The Cinema's keys are each uniquely shaped, logically arranged, and very easy to identify by feel. On the rare occasion that I accidently "ALL LIGHTS OFF" with an X10 code the glow of the keys is enough for me to correnct the problem in the dark.

Buy one. You won't regret it.
