Ralf,
One option would be to get an upgradeable remote such as the Producer 8 and have the code added, but these remotes are expensive. However, you can sometimes find deals on eBay, I recently picked up a URC-8080 for $15.

The C7 should have enough learning memory to store somewhere between 24 and 30 commands, which should be more than enough to operate the main functions of your TV. If you have used learning for any other devices, you should probably clear out the remote (using the 980 commands) and then re-program the buttons that you had learned using advanced codes. One unfortunate side effect of having to learn the TV functions is that the volume punch through won't work, so if you want the VCR's volume buttons to work the TV volume (for example) you will have to learn the buttons in the VCR mode too, using up valuable learning memory.

Rob.
