To find out what remote address your set to. try this;

1. Hit menu
2. go to messages & setup
3. then system information
4. scroll down to "remote address"

If it's set to "0", it would say "remote address "0" not set"
If it's set to something else, you'll need to set to "0", continue from step 4.

5. pointing the tivo remote away from the tivo, press and hold PAUSE and TIVO buttons, until the red light remains on.
6. while pointing the remote towards the tivo hit "0". that changes the tivo remote to "0"
7. to change the receiver, press the right cursor, now both receiver and remote should be set to "0".
