Hello All,

I bought my best friend the new Radio Shack Kameleon for Christmas. Since he is going to be out of town, I gave him the gift yesterday and we spent the afternoon programming it for his home theater.

We set up all devices and started programming Macros. We ran into a problem when programming the macro to watch DVDs. We cannot get the Kameleon to change audio inputs on his Sony receiver.

I tried getting the Sony remote to send the signal and have the Kameleon learn the command, but the remote sends the signal for maybe 1.5 seconds, so it's not learning the command properly. Plus, the Sony remote has this scroll button to go thru the devices. That may also be contributing to the problem.

I own the 8910 and the old URC7800. I setup my aux button on the 8910 for a Sony amp and tried to learn the command, too, but was unable.

I called Radio Shack and they said the Kameleon won't learn from the Sony Remote and that an update would be here, "in 2 weeks".

No wanting to wait, I thought I would try an advance code on the Kameleon. I found some Sony Advance codes on Hifi-remote.com.

My questions are:
1. The manual doesn't talk about it, so does the Kameleon take Advance codes?
2. If it does, do I just follow the Kameleon Programming setup and use the 994 commands?

If the Kameleon doesn't use advance codes, my final try was to use Advance codes for the receiver on either the 8910 or the 7800 and then have those send the signal to the Kameleon.
3. Do you think this would be a way to get the Kameleon to learn the command?

One final thing. The Kameleon is a nice remote. I like the layout and the changing screens. It would be nice to have it control 8 devices, for more flexibility!

Thanks in advance for all your advice!
