I have a friend who is in need of a decent universal remote.
I have a Cinema7+ with JP1 cable that I use to get advanced codes for my other learning remote.
My plan is to get a good JP1 remote and custom program it for him using the JP1 cable and software.

I started looking at the newer OFA remotes with LCD display and I have a few questions.

It looks to me like the 9910 and 8910 are the same except for RF capability. True?

I was about to settle on the 8910 when I read another thread that claimed the 8810 is a better choice for programming with JP1. Is this still true? Do they have the same amount of memory for learning, key moves, etc...

I looked for the 8810 but all I found was the 8811.
I assume the 8810 is discontinued in favor of the 8811.
Is there a difference?
