I like your honesty.
You didn't say if you even have a uiec remote, so will knowing an advance code even do you any good?
If you do, first find the setup code that works the unit, even if minimally. then take that setup code and check rob's site for the advance codes for that setup code. Program your remote to issue that command, and teach it to your MX-500.
